About TCT Initiative

The technical cooperation carried out by the National Bank of Poland with other central banks and supervisory institutions of countries under economic transformation began in the mid 90's. Until 2002 main focus of this cooperation was on supervisory issues. In 2003-2004 a number of central banks of the countries under economic transformation expressed a strong interest in learning from the NBP's experience and knowledge with regard to different aspects of the banking sector. The Technical Cooperation for Transition Initiative (TCT) was launched in 2005. It creates an opportunity for the participants (participating banks) to exchange their professional experience and expand skills they already posses. Starting from 2008 year we decided to expand our existing cooperation programme (study visits, seminars, NBP experts' visits and internships) to include workshops. This new form of training is targeted at small group of experts from one language group (either Russian or English). The aim of this activity is to focus more on the practical aspects of the selected banking areas with emphasis on active participation. The intention is to offer this type of training on cyclical basis and upon the interest of the participants some issues may be recurred the following years for different group of central banks.
